November 21, 2005 - Happy Thanksgiving! As we all know, the very first American Thanksgiving was held when the Pilgrims and their new Native American friends gathered in 1621 to give thanks to "Almighty God for all His blessings." The first official observance of Thanksgiving on the last Thursday in November came in 1863 when President Abraham Lincoln declared "a day of Thanksgiving and Praise to our beneficent Father." This Thanksgiving Day, I encourage you to take a moment or two -- before the turkey, stuffing, pumpkin pie and football games -- to reflect on the blessings in your life and give thanks to God with genuine gratitude. And I want to THANK YOU for your support of FBT!
