October 3, 2005 - Last week in Orlando, the Florida DOT hosted a Workshop on the new federal transportation act known as SAFETEA-LU (Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users). This act became law on August 10th and will help shape the federal highway and transit programs through 2009. Among those speaking at the Workshop were FDOT Secretary Denver Stutler, Assistant Secretaries Ysela Llort and Lowell Clary, and FHWA Florida Division Administrator David Gibbs. Both FDOT and the USDOT have webpages designed to provide more info on SAFETEA-LU.
